Coral Viewing and Snorkelling The Coral Viewing and Snorkelling Tour is the ultimate way to experience the lagoons premier reef and coral holes. This two hour tour focuses on exploring the profuse coral seascape and introduces visitors to some of the more unusual lagoon inhabitants such as the endemic double-header wrasse, stingrays and turtles.
One of the highlights of this tour includes a visit to the Island’s most famous and incredibly beautiful coral hole known as “Erscott’s Hole”. This location has been an integral part of the glass bottom boat experience on Lord Howe Island for over 35 years.
Specialty Snorkelling For the snorkelling enthusiast join us on our two hour Specialty Snorkelling Tour to four or more of the lagoons most amazing coral gardens. Snorkel within the calm pristine waters of the lagoon and marvel at the diversity of this reef environment. The Specialty Snorkelling Tour is two hours in duration and is conducted from our beautifully maintained glass bottom boats designed to provide the ultimate snorkelling platform.
The Specialty Snorkelling Tour has been developed specifically by Lord Howe Environmental Tours to enable snorkelers to experience the greatest range of coral communities and fish fauna within the Island’s stunning lagoon.
Blackburn Island & Natural History Tour Surrounding Lord Howe Island are 27 volcanic islets. A number of these rugged and remote islets are important seabird rookeries which have a unique ecosystem of their own.
Located on the western edge of the lagoon, Blackburn Island is the most accessible of these volcanic islets. During the summer months Blackburn Island is home to a large population of Wedge-tailed Shearwater (Puffinus pacificus), commonly referred to as muttonbirds.
Join Island Naturalist Dean and learn about the fascinating natural and cultural heritage values of Blackburn Island. Observe down-covered, Wedge-tailed Shearwater chicks and learn about the migratory and foraging behaviour of this species.
Mt Gower Trek Join Island Naturalist Dean Hiscox on the Mt Gower Trek. Dean was an Island Ranger for 16 years and his extensive knowledge will ensure a unique and memorable day in which you will learn about the Island’s World Heritage values and its amazing natural history. The Mount Gower Trek justly deserves its ranking as one of Australia’s top day walks. Taking approximately five hours to reach the summit at 875 metres and another four hours to return, this trek should not be taken lightly.
Guided Kayaking Tour Lord Howe Environmental Tours provides a range of kayaking activities designed to cater for all levels of experience and recreational opportunities, from a quiet lagoon paddle and snorkel to an adventurous ocean sea cave expedition.
Guided Lagoon Tour Come and kayak on one of the world’s most beautiful lagoons where you can explore secluded coral holes, visit deserted beaches and learn about the Island’s amazing marine environment. “Australis” Sit-on-top kayaks renowned for their stability and ease of access are provided for the tour. Tours are scheduled according to tide and wind conditions.

North Head Sea Cave Kayaking Expedition One of the truly amazing geological gems of Lord Howe Island are its sea caves. These caves are most numerous around the Island’s northern coastline and can only be explored by small craft or kayak.
Admiralty Island Kayaking Expedition Located a few kilometres to the north of Lord Howe Island lie the Admiralty Islands, this island group is home to tens of thousands of migratory seabirds and is surrounded by a high energy coral reef environment.
Mt Gower Kayaking Expedition Rising to a height of 875 metres out of the ocean, Mt Gower is truly one of the worlds more spectacular volcanic mountains. Kayak to the south western end of the Island and explore a coastline dominated by the massive topography of Mt Gower and its huge vertical sea cliffs. |
