Evans Head is a fishing village, with the Evans River providing not only great fishing, but beautiful scenery as the local fishing boats enter and exit the breakwater. Main attractions are the surfing beaches, the beautiful Evans River, leisure fishing, bushwalking, whale watching, bike riding, golfing, bowling and many family facilities. AttractionsThere are many fine national parks and nature reserves including Bundjalung National Park, Goanna Headland and Broadwater National Park. At South Broadwater adjacent to the highway, is the Broadwater Koala Park. It provides a shady rest area for tourists and koalas alike. Razorback Lookout offers spectacular views of the entire area. Bushwalks abound around the points and headlands, and through the National Parks. Evans Head is a picturesquetown, with the beautiful Evans River lazily meandering its way through town to the breakwater. The banks of the river have picnic tables and BBQ facilities, ideal for family recreation; and the breakwater is great for leisure fishing. The beaches at Evans Head are some of the safest surfing beaches on the East Coast. |
